hey i installed who is where 1.5 on a nuke 7.6 based package i am working on and i got this error
Warning: gethostbyaddr(): Address is not in a.b.c.d form in C:\apache2triad\htdocs\NextGens\admin\modules\who_2.php on line 405

just wondering can i change that call to the normal get ip address function?


and another question can i use this mod in a cms release i have planned for the near future?

Hi GazJ,

gethostbyaddr() is a php function!

string gethostbyaddr ( string $ip_address )

Returns the host name of the Internet host specified by ip_address.
Parameters

ip_address

The host IP address.

Return Values

Returns the host name or the unmodified ip_address on failure.


The error message that you are getting is not an error with the function. You may find that you are passing a CIDR range instead of an ip number, you will need to check the ranges in the whoisonline table.

However you are using an OS that does not truly support php (windows), switch over to Linux, BSD or Unix which is free. This site is hosted on a Linux web server.

What do you call the normal get ip address?
I use a standard php network function.
The code is released under GPL so you can change what ever you like. Just remember to leave the Licensing Information intact.

Yes of course you can just remember to leave the copyright information intact and a link to LD Software.
